Blackmagic OpenGear Converters are fully compatible with the OpenGear standard. OpenGear is an open standard for rack mount converters and processing for television broadcasters. Blackmagic OpenGear Converters are compatible with 20-card models of the 2 RU (rack unit) OpenGear frames.
OpenGear cards are hot swappable and can be controlled by java based DashBoard network control and monitoring software on Windows™, Mac OS X™ and Linux™ supplied with the OpenGear frame for free.
You can mount up to 20 converters cards into one OpenGear frame.
Audio to SDI OpenGear Embedder embeds up to 4 channels of analog audio, or up to 8 channels of AES/EBU digital audio into any SDI video connection. Embeds audio from devices such as audio mixers and analog decks into SDI video connections for use with SDI routers and decks or to add extra audio channels to video converters.
